A week conference, 3rd - 7th November 2008. Training is in English, with Thai translation.
For Thais and others working in Asia.In partnership with Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities (http://www.ccdthailand.org) and the Royal Government of Thailand (Department of Social Development and Welfare).

What is the training's aim?
Children With Hope (CWH) conducts unique holistic training in a rich cross cultural environment. The conferences and training courses aim to challenge and enlarge your current understanding, provide a deeper insight into the needs of children, and will give you strategies to motivate you to make a difference in a hurting world.
What does the training cover?
The following topics are just an example of the diversity of the training.

Children at risk:
The 'orphan", street child, child prostitute, child labourer, the female child, children with HIV/AIDS, children with disabilities, child soldiers etc. -
Theories on:
Needs of the child, attachment, child abuse, loss and grief, models of care, child development etc.
How is the training conducted?
Children With Hope's unique training model includes a variety of methodologies. Interactive lectures from Children With Hope trainers, national guest speakers, local site visits, videos and DVDs, small groups, exercises and case studies, and assignments both for the individual and as a group, all provide a "class room setting" that is an effective forum for discussion between students whose life experiences are so varied.
Who are the participants?
Participants come from a wide diversity of cultures, ages and backgrounds, with varying expertise and experience in the field of children. This can range from those who have had many years working in managerial roles and/or working with children, to those with little or no experience, and who want to be introduced to what what the field entails. CWH has trained people from 27 different countries.
What are the costs?
The costs vary according to the location, length of training etc. Please contact us for more details.
How do I apply?
Registrations for the Impact Africa and Impact Asia conferences are processed through our national partners. Please contact CWH for more details.
Training applications for the 4 week international course in Thailand and Uganda can be downloaded off this website. These are forwarded to the CWH office for processing and approval, attention Thailand or Uganda Facilitator.
After training, will Children With Hope assist me to do practical work with children?
Yes, after the successful completion of an international course, graduates have the opportunity to put 'theory into practice' with one of CWH's partnering agencies. Field Placement is arranged through the graduate and the host agency, and opportunities exist in Bolivia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Macao etc.
